Balloon Mission
BalloonMiss_Logo.png

Our mission is to collect balloons after people are finished using them before they end up as trash, causing harm to the environment, wildlife, and even us (from micro and nano-plastics). Balloon Mission’s motto, “Collect-Protect-Preserve,” aims to collect all foil and latex balloon pieces and ensure they’re safely disposed of so we can protect animals and preserve our ecosystems. Through our inspiring outreach programs, people are taking an active stand against plastic pollution, while still celebrating life’s moments.

Reworld Waste Management

This Waste-to-Energy facility is an award-winning Thermomechanical Treatment Facility serving the Town of Babylon with reliable and sustainable waste management. Every year, their facility processes more than 250,000 tons of waste that would otherwise end up in landfills.

In addition to keeping waste out of landfills, Reworld is committed to minimizing environmental impacts. Consistently recognized for their exceptional operations, their facility was the first zero-water discharge facility of its kind in the U.S., meaning all wastewater from facility operations is treated onsite and recycled through the system. In 2026, as we celebrate America's 250th, a group of hardworking, motivated organizational leaders have come together to unite our community together to 'Keep Long Island Beautiful'. From Memorial Day to Labor Day this year, our collective efforts to clean, restore and steward Long Island’s communities, and waterways, will keep them protected, safe and flourishing for generations to come.

Save The Great South Bay
STGSB_logo.png

The Great South Bay will only be as healthy as the creeks and rivers that flow into it. There are some 50 creeks that flow into the bay, along the 16 communities along the South Shore. The Creek Defender Program calls upon people in each of those communities to become local stewards, healing our creeks as we heal the Bay. They are led by Creek Defenders who acts as a local steward, organizing and guiding their communities, leading cleanups, habitat restoration projects, and native planting initiatives.
